ABOUT VIP

VIP Mountain Holidays has been providing full service, private concierge style holidays to Whistler since 1999. We are located in Whistler and only do Whistler, so we really do know everything there is to know about Whistler!

We provide a lot more than just booking accommodation and logistics. Our essential differences are the personal touches and the fact that we help you create a uniquely authentic experience. Our goal is to provide our guests with the very best and most personalized service.

The idea for VIP was born on a chairlift in Courchevel France. Two ski buddies and college roommates, Ben & Matt, were taking a gap year in France before returning to university in pursuit of MBA’s. While working as ski guides for UK company Flexi-Ski and having clients repeatedly state ‘you guys are Canadian – we’ve always wanted to come to Whistler’ the seeds were planted. This was in 1998 when Whistler was on the brink of exploding. Ben & Matt made a move to Whistler in April of 1999 armed with a list of 300 names of solid Flexi-Ski clients who swore they would book with VIP. In the end, they only sold one trip to this list of clients. As luck would have it though, much like Whistler, there was this new thing called the ‘internet’ and it too was taking off.

With one shared laptop and a 24/7 dedicated team of two, these computer geek ski bums took turns on rotating 12-hour shifts figuring out how search engines worked. Matt eventually cracked AOL’s algorithm to have VIP appear first in any AOL searches for Whistler ski holidays. If you build it, they will come – our clientele base began to grow and grow. Ben has since bought Matt out, and 21 years later, 90% of VIP’s business is repeat or referral from those very first bookings, and Ben’s MBA is still on hold.

Today our team has grown and consists of four core staff: Ben, Julie, Dylan and Kyla. Collectively, we bring you over 85 years of experience planning amazing holidays in Whistler. We also have a fantastic group of extended staff members to help out during our busy seasons. Generally, when you book your holiday, you end up dealing with all of us in one way or another!
